About Syd.Create
I am Syd.Create, a passionate visual storyteller, performer, and media producer dedicated to amplifying queer artistry and alternative performance spaces. With a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies with an emphasis in Visual Art from Boise State University, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, artistic vision, and community-driven storytelling to everything I do. My journey through childhood cancer at five and overcoming heart failure at thirty has shaped my deep appreciation for self-expression, resilience, and the transformative power of creative work.
Professional Experience & Creative Ventures
I am the Co-Executive Producer and Principal Videographer for Haunted Happenings with Tony and Vera, a multi-platform series covering alternative drag, burlesque, and queer performance art in Boise, Idaho. What began as a simple drag competition recap show has evolved into a full-fledged media production, featuring weekly YouTube episodes, radio segments on 103.1 KFFI Tropico FM, and press coverage of major events such as Treefort Music Fest and Boise Pride. Through Haunted Happenings, I focus on preserving and showcasing the stories, performances, and culture of Boise’s vibrant LGBTQ+ scene while working to expand sponsorship opportunities that allow us to reinvest in the community, provide fair pay for artists, and support mutual aid and LGBTQ+ advocacy efforts.
I also serve as the Digital Media Coordinator, Content Creator, Video Editor, and Social Media Strategist for Revel Movement, where I develop innovative marketing campaigns, produce high-quality video content, and craft engaging social media strategies that enhance the studio’s mission of inclusivity, empowerment, and artistic expression. I spearheaded the launch of Pride in Motion, a free/pay-what-you-can movement program designed for the trans community, as well as fundraising initiatives and branding efforts that have strengthened Revel’s connection to Boise’s LGBTQ+ and movement arts communities.
Beyond media production, I am an up-and-coming drag and burlesque artist, gracing stages across Boise, including Treefort Dragfort, The Balcony Club, Pengilly’s Saloon, HapHap Lounge, and the Voodoo Cellar. I am honored to be a drag child of Tony Berrow and Buck D'Licious, carrying forward a legacy of drag excellence while carving out my own unique style. My performances blend glamour, theatricality, and raw emotion, cementing my place as an emerging force in Boise’s performance scene.
Personal Philosophy
My work—whether behind the camera, on stage, or in media production—is driven by a passion for capturing stories that matter. Having faced life-threatening health challenges, I know firsthand the importance of self-expression, resilience, and leaving a meaningful impact on the world. Every project I take on is infused with authenticity, creativity, and a commitment to highlighting underrepresented voices.
From producing compelling visual content to electrifying audiences as a performer, I am dedicated to pushing boundaries, building community, and creating art that resonates.
